Migrated to Clare, Oct 14, 1851; BA 1854; MA 1857; Ordained Deacon (Bath & Wells) 1854; priest 1855; Curate of Crewkerne, Somerset, 1854-6. Held other curacies 1856-61. Rector of Eversholt, Woburn, Beds, 1861-1900. Brother of Edward (1860) and father of William W.C. (1879). Died July 8 1900, aged 72

Vincent Bryce Carew Baker had a Silver Epergne presented to Rev W.S. and Mrs Baker inscribed:
"To the Rev William Samuel and Mrs Baker by parishioners of Long Melford, Suffolk, as a small token of esteem and regard, won by energy and zeal in the erection and conducting of the schools, discriminating liberality and universal kindness to the poor, and a pastoral care for the temporal and spiritual welfare of all during the time of Mr Baker's holding the curacy of the parish. Long Melford, 21st June 1861."
